Stephanie Wanga is an MRes/PhD student at the London School of Economics and Political Science, whose dissertation looks into theoretical alternatives to the Western models of statehood applied in Africa, as well as the ways in which the state is contested and reimagined in African literatures, photography, and art. Her research interests include but are not limited to government and politics in Africa, African political philosophy, African popular culture, and the arts in Africa. She is also a creative writer, working on her first novel.
