Said KENAI is currently a Professor of concrete technology and building materials at the civil engineering department, University Saâd Dahleb-Blida1, Algeria. He obtained his PhD from the University of Leeds (UK) in 1988. He is the chairman of the civil engineering research laboratory at the university of Blida1, a member of ACI, a founding member of the African Materials Research Society (MRS-Africa) and a member of RILEM TC-ISC. He is currently the chairman of RILEM-TC on agro-waste in cementitious materials (2018-). He has supervised more than 20 PhD thesis. He has collaborated on joint research projects with south-Africa, Brazil, France, USA and Belgium. He published over 100 international journals and international conference papers. He has been invited as keynote speaker in many international conferences in Brazil, Tunisia, Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, Botswana and Tanzania. He was the editor of a special issue of MRS Adavances, on materials for infrastructure and mining in 2018. He has been a member of the editorial board of Journal of advances in concrete construction since 2012. He is currently a member of the editorial board of: “Journal of Nature and technology”, and Journal of Applied Engineering Science and technology (JAEST), and BAU Journal of science and Technology. His main research interests include concrete durability, cement replacement materials, reuse of waste, earth constructions, self-compacting concrete and repair and strengthening of structures.
